Voice over IP (VoIP)

VoIP is a generic term to describe using the internet to make phone calls. Because it doesn´t use conventional telephony it´s much, much cheaper.

For example;

  • Free VoIP to VoIP calls, which is excellent for calls from regular customers and between branch offices and remote workers.
  • Calls to the United States at  less than 1p  per minute.
  • UK landline calls at just over 1p per minute. How much are you currently paying?

Some companies (e.g. www.skype.com), will provide free software for making VoIP calls to other VoIP users. However, if you want to use it throughout your organisation and really slash your phone bills you need the services of an ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider).

The advent of VoIP has also led to a new generation of integrated telephone systems. For example, users can receive individual voice-mail and faxes into an email system like Outlook via ‘Unified Messaging’. Traditional telephone systems need special equipment to do this, but not VoIP.

We will happily demonstrate the benefits of VoIP for you at our Cheshire office.
