World-Wide Document Storage and Retrieval
Products & Services / Software / Sterling International Case Study
Sterling International, with offices throughout the world including the Far East and Europe, were finding paperwork and document management becoming a major issue.
Storage was a problem, but so was trying to access the right documents at the site where it was needed, when it was needed. If a document was held at a site in Europe, the Far Eastern offices could only access it via faxing or emailing, which was too slow and cumbersome.
So we created a simple scanning program. The user scans in documents and enters "keywords" associated with it. The document is then automatically stored on a Central Server, accessible anywhere in the world via secure Internet access.
Document retrieval is also very flexible. Simple search criteria allows documents to be identified on the server and viewed locally. Again, this can take place at any location with Internet access.
This is a simple, secure and highly robust solution which has improved efficiency and effectiveness enormously. Document images are stored in a central location with full back up services, so there is no need to store physical documents which saves both cost and space.
